A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT

Trust starts with clarity.

Where the numbers come from. What they mean. What they don’t.

Connected at the source

Founders connect a restricted Stripe API key. Prooflane makes read requests and saves only the aggregate metrics needed for a profile.

A connected account proves access to a payment source. It does not prove legal ownership, profitability, or that a business is a good investment. Founders must confirm their Stripe account is dedicated to one project.

Freshness is part of the picture

Every profile shows its last complete sync. Refreshes are currently manual, with a one-minute cooldown. Data older than 48 hours is excluded from the default live index.

If a sync fails, the previous complete snapshot is retained. Revoked keys lose their connection status when a refresh detects revocation. Disconnecting in Prooflane takes a project out of the public index immediately.

How we calculate the metrics

Monthly recurring revenue (MRR)

We normalize fixed-price, licensed monthly and yearly USD subscriptions. An annual subscription of $120 contributes $10 per month. Quantities and billing intervals are included. Active and past-due subscriptions count; canceled, unpaid, and trialing subscriptions do not. A scheduled cancellation still counts until the subscription ends.

This beta does not calculate MRR for discounted subscriptions (including customer and item discounts), non-USD prices, metered or tiered pricing, paused collection, automatic tax, or tax-inclusive prices. Unsupported data makes MRR unavailable; we do not present a partial total as complete.

30-day net collections

We add captured USD payments created in the previous 30 days (UTC) and subtract refunds recorded against those same payments as of the sync. This includes tax and excludes payment fees. Refunds against older payments are outside this window. This is not accounting revenue, profit, or a full cash-flow statement.

Active subscriptions

The number of subscriptions included under the MRR status rules. This is not a count of unique customers. One customer can have several subscriptions.

Trends and growth

Live history begins with the first successful snapshot; we never reconstruct earlier MRR from current subscriptions. The live index does not yet show a growth percentage. Demo charts and growth percentages are fictional illustrations.

Demonstration and test data

The Demo collection contains invented businesses, founders, and figures. Stripe test-mode data stays in the founder’s private workspace. Neither is included in the live index.

Review before publication

Publication requires the founder’s consent, a fresh supported live connection, and administrator approval. Review is a listing check, not an independent financial audit.

Your profile, your choice

You can edit, hide, disconnect, or delete your project from your workspace. Changes to published details return the project to draft for review.
